Mitochondrial cocktail enhances heart protection
We designed a study with male Wistar rats, aged 22-24 months and induced with type-2 diabetes, to investigate how a combination of three mitochondrial agents—melatonin, nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), and ubiquinol—could provide protection against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, especially in the context of aging and diabetes.

The rats were split into groups receiving different treatments, including some that received the cocktail of supplements just during the reperfusion phase after inducing I/R injury. Over 28 days leading up to the tests, rats received NMN, while melatonin and ubiquinol were administered as the heart was being revived after ischemia.

The results indicated that the combination therapy notably enhanced heart protection and improved mitochondrial function and biogenesis in these aged diabetic rats. While ubiquinol was an important part of this cocktail, it is essential to view its role as one among several synergistic agents. This points to exciting possibilities for improved heart health strategies, particularly for older individuals with diabetes.

Combination therapy improves heart health
We examined the combined effects of nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and ubiquinol on heart health, particularly focusing on how they impact lethal heart rhythms following a heart attack in aged rats. The study involved 30 male Wistar rats, including groups with and without myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury, as well as those receiving either NMN, ubiquinol, or both.

By administering NMN for a month before the heart attack and intravenously injecting ubiquinol during early reperfusion, we aimed to see how these treatments could reduce oxidative stress and improve nitric oxide levels. Our findings showed that the combination therapy had a notable anti-arrhythmic effect, helping to counteract the damaging heart rhythms often experienced after such serious incidents.

Although our research indicates that this combination treatment may offer better heart protection during aging, we recognize the need for more investigations to fully explore this potential and understand the precise effects of each component, particularly ubiquinol. Overall, our study highlights the promising role of combining therapies to enhance heart health in older adults.

I regularly take ubiquinol every morning after a heart attack. It's proven effective for my heart defect and improves my energy levels and memory significantly. I no longer require other medications as this helps normalise my blood pressure. Although pricier, its benefits make it worthwhile.

I took a jar for myself, my mother, and my aunt. We are all delighted, feeling a clear boost in energy. After long days, there's lightness in my body, fewer painful periods, fewer heart interruptions, and I can breathe deeply. I will order more to see the effects of prolonged use.

Supports heart health

Excellent! In December, I began improving my immunity with a nutritionist. Ubiquinol was one of the supplements prescribed. Coenzyme Q10 maintains women's health by supporting reproductive function, stabilising hormonal balance, and reducing the risk of heart attack. After six months, I've certainly noticed positive results.
